About the Lab

Our primary research interest is the biology of the innate and adaptive immune systems, uncovering those regulatory gene networks that govern the function and differentiation of immune cell types including T cells, B cells, dendritic cells, NK cells, monocytes and neutrophils. We have a strong commitment to translational research with ongoing clinical research into the immunology of transplantation, inflammatory bowel disease and sepsis. This includes projects investigating both novel biomarkers in these diseases and cutting-edge therapies, including cellular therapy.

Location

The LORD Lab is located on the 5th Floor of Guy's Hospital, at the heart of the London Bridge area. Local attractions include the vibrant Borough Market, the Tate Modern museum and Shakespeare's Globe. Being located within Guy's Hospital and only a few steps from our wards and clinics gives us the ability to conduct clinical studies and engage with patients in a way that benefits both our research and our patients. Additionally, the dedicated NIHR Comprehensive Biomedical Research Centre and Clinical Research Facility are also located within Guy's Hospital, providing convenient opportunities to engage in scientific discussion and improving our ability to conduct high quality clinical studies.
